**Also known as:** Ad campaign, Meta campaign

**In AdOps:** Campaigns is the default rule level in AdOps (`campaign`), and every action that changes something writes at campaign level: Start, Pause, Delete, Duplicate, Increase budget, Decrease budget, Set budget, Add to name, Remove from name and Replace text in name.

A campaign is the top level of a Meta Ads account: it carries the objective, and under campaign budget optimization it also carries the budget. AdOps works at this level by default. Its ten changing actions all write to a campaign, and its three pre-filters all read campaign fields before a rule is ever evaluated.

## What can an AdOps rule do to a campaign?

Ten actions change a campaign: Start, Pause, Delete and Duplicate under General; Increase budget, Decrease budget and Set budget under Budget; and Add to name, Remove from name and Replace text in name under Name and text. Duplicate posts a deep copy of the campaign, which Meta processes asynchronously.

## How does a rule choose which campaigns to touch?

Three pre-filters scope a rule before any metric is read: Campaign ID equal or not equal, Campaign Name contains or does not contain, and Campaign Status is or is not, with ACTIVE and PAUSED as the selectable values. The builder shows a live Estimated match count so the blast radius is visible before saving.

## Can a rule act at ad-set level instead?

A rule can be set to the Ad sets level, which changes the level of the Insights read the engine evaluates. The actions themselves remain campaign-shaped, so ad-set level is useful for evaluation and reporting rather than for writing changes to an ad set.
